Job summary

Glidewell Dental is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to own mechanical design from concept through testing, assembly and deployment at our Irvine campus. You’ll collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and controls engineers to develop custom automation equipment and validate designs for production.

Minimum eight years in related fields with SolidWorks CAD proficiency and strong knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
8+ years of experience in related field.
Advanced with SolidWorks or CAD software.
In-depth knowledge of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

Creates drawings, documents, and BOMs for fabrication.
Designs tests and analyzes results from development processes.
Collaborates with Electrical Engineers, Control Engineers, and build team.
Verifies correct fit and function of assemblies.
Performs stress, thermal, and/or flow analyses using simulation tools.
Collaborates with build team with hands on prototyping.
Applies DFMA principles to execute designs.
Performs tolerance analysis for assemblies.
Diagnoses issues with machinery under development to determine and execute corrective action.
Prepares design concepts and layouts for equipment and subassemblies for formal design review.
Collaborates with management for planning activities.
