Job summary

Blueprint Hires is seeking a seasoned mechanical engineer for California projects, including the Sacramento area, to lead design through construction support. The role involves developing energy models, coordinating with clients and contractors, and delivering technical documentation using Revit and AutoCAD in compliance with California Building Codes.

The ideal candidate has a Mechanical Engineering degree, 5+ years of consulting/design-build experience, and a PE license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• PE license preferred.
• 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience in a consulting or design/build environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage mechanical engineering projects from design through construction support.
• Design heating, cooling, ventilation, hydronic, and plumbing systems for building projects.
• Develop building energy models and evaluate practical solutions.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams with clear technical guidance.
• Prepare technical documentation and construction deliverables using Revit and AutoCAD per California codes.

Job description

Your Day Includes

• Manage mechanical engineering projects from design through construction support, coordinating schedules, deliverables, and client needs.
• Design heating, air conditioning, ventilation, hydronic, and plumbing systems for building projects.
• Develop building energy models and evaluate practical solutions aligned with project goals and applicable standards.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams, providing clear technical guidance and responsive communication.
• Prepare technical documentation and construction deliverables using Revit and AutoCAD while applying California Building Codes and BMS controls principles.

Must Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Professional Engineer (PE) license (preferred).
• 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience in a consulting engineering or design/build environment.
• Knowledge of healthcare projects, hydronics, plumbing, construction support, BMS controls, and California Building Codes.
