Job summary

SoloPoint Solutions, Inc. is seeking a senior mechanical/ electromechanical engineer to design and validate components for autonomous mobile robots. You will own CAD models, GD&T, tolerances, and BOMs to enable production release.

Lead prototype builds, DVT and reliability testing, and collaborate with suppliers and contract manufacturers on DFM/DFA, cost and quality improvements. Strong hands-on build/test experience preferred.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
• 5+ years in robotics, automation, NPD, or complex electromechanical products.
• Hands-on design to production experience with electromechanical hardware.

Job description

Qualifications: BS in Mechanical Engineering (or related field) 5+ years experience in robotics, automation, NPD, or complex electromechanical products SolidWorks (3D modeling, large assemblies, configurations, drawings, revision control) Mechanical design for electromechanical hardware including sheet metal parts and assemblies Manufacturing release experience including prototype-to-production ramp, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and production documentation Hands-on build, test, verify/validate, and troubleshoot hardware through DVT and production. Working knowledge of manufacturing processes: sheet metal, machining, welding, injection molding, and cable routing. Experience with ECO processes, BOM management, and supplier/manufacturing documentation.

Responsibilities: Design and validate mechanical and electromechanical components for autonomous mobile robot platforms from concept through production release. Own CAD models, drawings, GD&T application, tolerance stack-ups, and BOM documentation to support manufacturing release. Lead prototype builds and validation activities, including DVT and reliability testing, and drive root-cause troubleshooting to closure. Partner with manufacturing, suppliers, and contract manufacturers on DFM/DFA, cost, quality, and scalability through pilot and production. Support design reviews, change control (ECO), and documentation processes; communicate technical tradeoffs and status to cross-functional teams.
