Job summary

Prequel Solutions in Pittsburgh is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the development of its next-generation autonomous robotic platform. This hands-on role offers significant ownership, from concept through prototyping to production, in a hybrid setting downtown.

You will design mechanical systems, work with electrical and software teams, and collaborate with suppliers to bring designs into production. Strong CAD skills (SolidWorks) and experience with motion systems are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong background designing complex mechanical or electromechanical products with moving components and mechanisms.
• Hands‑on experience with 3D CAD; SolidWorks experience is preferred.
• Proven experience developing products beyond the design stage through testing, manufacturing, and production.
• Experience with motors, gearboxes, bearings, actuators, sensors, or similar mechanical motion systems.
• Robotics experience is a plus but not required; backgrounds in industrial automation, material handling, aerospace, transportation, medical devices, heavy equipment, or similar product environments can translate well.

We’re supporting an established Pittsburgh-area robotics company seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to play a key role in the development of its next-generation autonomous robotic platform. This is a hands‑on opportunity for an experienced engineer who wants significant ownership and the ability to see their work move from design into real-world production.

Location: Downtown Pittsburgh area

Work Model: Hybrid – minimum 3 days onsite per week

Employment: Full-time, direct hire
