Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) required.
• 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience in an MEP or architectural/engineering consulting firm.
• Strong proficiency in Revit for mechanical building systems design.
• PE license preferred or actively pursuing licensure with ability to obtain it soon.
• Strong understanding of mechanical building codes, calculations, equipment sizing, and construction documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for new construction, renovations, and building improvement projects.
• Develop engineering calculations, equipment selections, system layouts, specifications, and construction documents using Revit and other design tools.
• Coordinate mechanical designs with electrical, structural, architectural, and other disciplines throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide technical oversight, review drawings, mentor junior engineers, and ensure compliance with codes and industry standards.
• Support project management, client coordination, field investigations, construction administration, and overall project delivery.

Design Hire is seeking a Sr Mechanical Engineer. This position will focus on the design and development of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for commercial, institutional, and other building projects.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience within an MEP consulting environment, strong proficiency in Revit, and the ability to independently manage mechanical designs while providing technical guidance to junior engineers.
