Job summary

Design Hire seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and mechanical piping systems for high-rise and complex commercial projects.

The ideal candidate will have extensive MEP consulting experience, a strong background in high-rise building design, and the ability to independently lead mechanical engineering projects from concept through construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience in an MEP/AE consulting environment.
• Active PE license required; Georgia licensure strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience designing mechanical systems for high-rise buildings.
• Strong HVAC design experience including sizing, load calculations, and piping design.
• Experience with plumbing and fire protection system design and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD for engineering design and documentation.
• Solid knowledge of mechanical codes and building standards for high-rise projects.

The ideal candidate will have extensive MEP consulting experience, a strong background in high-rise building design, and the ability to independently lead mechanical engineering projects from concept through construction.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and mechanical piping systems for high-rise buildings and complex commercial projects.
  
• Prepare engineering calculations, equipment selections, system layouts, specifications, and construction documents using Revit and AutoCAD.
  
• Coordinate mechanical designs with architectural, structural, electrical, and other engineering disciplines to ensure project requirements are met.
  
• Provide technical leadership, review engineering deliverables, mentor junior engineers, and ensure compliance with applicable codes and industry standards.
  
• Manage mechanical engineering deliverables, support client coordination, and oversee design activities throughout construction administration.
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) required.
  
• 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience within an MEP or architectural/engineering consulting environment.
  
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required, with Georgia PE licensure strongly preferred.
  
• Demonstrated experience designing mechanical systems for high-rise buildings.
  
• Strong HVAC design experience, including system sizing, equipment selection, load calculations, and mechanical piping.
  
• Experience with plumbing and fire protection system design and multidisciplinary MEP coordination.
  
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD for mechanical engineering design and construction documentation.
  
• Strong knowledge of applicable mechanical codes, building standards, and high-rise design requirements.
