Job summary

The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering with 6+ years of machine design, strong communication, and proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD. Knowledge of materials, budgeting, schematics, and pneumatic/hydraulic systems is essential

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of machine design fundamentals.
• Experience with Autodesk Inventor or similar 3D modeling software.
• Knowledge of materials, machining costs, and budget-conscious design.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic AutoCAD.
• Understanding of machine controls systems and able to read schematics.
• Experience with pneumatic/hydraulic systems and motor sizing.
• Familiarity with fluid dynamics and vacuum/blower system design.

Responsibilities

• Design 3D models and engineering drawings for mechanical machines based on sketches, concepts, or customer mark-ups.
• Prepare drawing packages and bills of material (BOMs) for custom automation machines.
• Research product specifications, contact vendors, and obtain quotations.
• Support engineering standards improvement and participate in hands-on shop work.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables.
• Present designs in customer review meetings.
• Delegate tasks and review/check drawings before engineering release.
• Work with controls engineers to develop Sequences of Operation.
• Coordinate with machine assemblers and fabricators.
