Job summary

Selectek in Verona, WI is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to design mechanical systems, create detailed Inventor drawings, and drive projects end-to-end. You will gather requirements, collaborate with customers, vendors, and internal teams to deliver custom automation solutions.

Requirements include a strong machine design foundation, Inventor experience, and knowledge of materials, budgets, and schematics.

Qualifications

Strong understanding of machine design fundamentals.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proven experience with Inventor or similar 3D modeling software.
Knowledge of materials, machining costs, and budget-conscious design.
Ability to read schematics and understand machine controls.
Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
Familiarity with fluid dynamics and vacuum/blower design.

Responsibilities

Design 3D models and engineering drawings for mechanical machines based on sketches and mark-ups.
Prepare drawing packages and BOMs for custom automation machines.
Research specifications, contact vendors, and obtain quotations.
Support engineering standards and participate in hands-on shop work.
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables.
Present designs in customer review meetings and iterate as needed.
Delegate tasks and review drawings before release to production.
Coordinate with controls engineers to develop Sequences of Operation.
Coordinate with machine assemblers and fabricators.
