Environmental Conditions

Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance, Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards, Cleanroom: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair etc... allowed, No contact lens allowed; prescriptive glasses will be provided, Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.), Standing for full shift

Join Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. as a Sr Material Handler. You'll have a meaningful role in our mission.

A Day in the Life:
  • Efficiently and safely operate assigned machinery, performing simple maintenance and necessary adjustments.
  • Participate in line opening and machine setup.
  • Follow all written procedures and report discrepancies to the Area Supervisor.
  • Document work accurately, ensuring quality and compliance.
  • Monitor products continuously for defects.
  • Suggest improvements for the production process.
  • Assist in the training and development of peers.
  • Ensure materials and supplies are delivered to the production line, maintaining continuous workflow.
  • Handle waste management and disposal in compliance with regulations.
  • Apply SAP for tracking inventory, materials, and production data.
  • Occasionally support operational needs on the production line.
  • Operate a forklift for material transport.
  • Maintain a high pace to meet production goals and deadlines.
  • Adapt to various tasks and responsibilities as required.
Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 1 year of work experience in manufacturing, operations, production, or a related field required.
  • Experience in a cGMP environment preferred.
  • Forklift certification or experience operating a forklift preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Proficiency in English, including technical and scientific language.
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in SAP for inventory and production tracking.
Physical Requirements / Work Environment:
  • Ability to stand for up to 10 hours a day.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to perform repetitive movements including pushing, pulling, lifting, twisting, bending, grasping, and crouching.
