MATERIAL HANDLER - Temp Assignment 2nd Shift
Must be able to train on 1st shift hours (6am to 2pm).
Job Summary
Associates engaged in a variety of warehouse duties including receiving materials, pulling materials for use, delivering to designated areas, and using computer systems for inventory management.
Essential Functions
- Perform a variety of material handling and inventory control tasks, including receiving raw materials, preparing materials for production, transporting, and storing materials in appropriate warehouse areas.
- Accurately perform work assignments and computer transactions to adjust inventory.
- Perform calculations using various units of measure accurately.
- Visually inspect all materials handled to ensure quality.
- Use manual and power material handling equipment safely and efficiently to move and arrange materials.
- Maintain workflow by ensuring proper materials are provided timely.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment; report unsafe practices or conditions to lead operators and supervisors.
- Follow work instructions and proactively seek assistance from lead operators or supervisors when needed.
- Communicate effectively with coworkers, leads, and supervisors; relay information to the next shift; assist others voluntarily; prevent problems through effective communication.
- Receive and unpack materials and supplies.
- Check receipts and bills of lading against purchase orders for accuracy, shortages, damages, or defects.
- Complete verifications and documentation neatly and accurately.

Job Specifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; at least one year of related experience.
- Follow instructions (verbal and written); consult with supervisors as needed; work is cross-checked for accuracy and adherence to instructions.
- Follow company policies, quality systems, and safety procedures.
- Work environment involves moderate risks requiring safety precautions, such as handling chemicals, wearing uniforms, hairnets, gloves, safety glasses, etc.
- Physical activities include standing, bending, crouching, reaching, lifting objects over 50 pounds, requiring agility and dexterity.
- Make decisions based on recognizing situations, sources of information, and transaction types.
- Primary contacts are internal (Operations, Quality, R&D); external contacts include vendors and carriers in a moderately unstructured setting.
