Job summary

Raytheon in McKinney, TX is seeking a Senior Material and Process Engineer to join the Materials and Process (M&P) team. You will create and manage material specifications, drive producibility, and work with cross-functional teams. The role requires a university degree with 5+ years of experience, U.S.

citizenship, strong technical writing, and problem-solving skills. On-site in McKinney, you will support multiple product lines and ensure material compatibility and manufacturability.

Qualifications

  • University degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience interpreting technical datasheets, Mil-Standard and ASTM.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • High level of professional technical writing skills.
  • Advanced degree preferred with 3+ years experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage material management in Common Product Data Management (cPDM), including gear parts and material drawing maintenance and sustainment activities.
  • Identify, evaluate and recommend material & process improvements to meet new product requirements.
  • Create and maintain material and process specifications.
  • Be part of rapid response team addressing factory manufacture process interruptions due to M&P specification issues.

We have an exciting opportunity for Senior Material and Process Engineer to join our Material and Process (M&P) team supporting varieties of product lines in North Texas Region. The engineer will be primarily responsible for material and process specification creations, material gear part creations, material managements, and incoming shelf-life-controlled material verifications. The engineer will work with a cross functional team including manufacture engineers, supply chains, operation value stream, and program authority to resolve pressing technical design and producibility issues.

The Material and Process Engineering team within McKinney, TX drives business success by providing engineering expertise to solve today’s problems in multiple domains. The material engineering discipline serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) to the material characteristic in terms of hardware compatibility, operation endurance, manufacture environment adaptability and many aspects of producibility incorporation.

What you will do:
  • Responsible for material management in Common Product Data Management (cPDM), this includes gear part and material drawing maintenance, and all aspects of sustainment activities.
  • Identify, evaluate and recommend material & process improvements to meet new product requirements.
  • Responsible for material and process specification creation and maintenance
  • Be a part of rapid response team that address factory manufacture process interruption due to M&P specification issue

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
