Job summary

Lenovo in Whitsett, North Carolina is seeking a Project/Program Manager to drive New Product Introduction for Cloud Service Provider customers. You will establish and track project plans, manage risk, cost, and resources, and ensure schedules are met.

Collaborating with cross-functional teams across offerings, procurement, quality engineering, hardware, service, and manufacturing, you will engage CSP customers and contribute to RFP/RFQ activities to win new business.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 5+ years in Manufacturing or Engineering background.
  • 3+ years' experience in Project or Program Management.
  • Strong communications skills.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and track project plans in support of New Product Introduction for Lenovo's Cloud Service Provider (CSP) customers.
  • Manage risk, cost, and resources to meet targets.
  • Drive achievement of committed project schedules while managing associated cost & expense.
  • Proactively resolve issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
  • Interlock dependencies and execution plans with multiple Lenovo cross-functional teams, including Offering Delivery Team, Procurement, quality engineering, hardware platform and I/O development teams, Service, and Manufacturing
  • Communicate schedules and plans to executive management.
  • Engage directly with CSP customers on project schedules and related items.
  • Participate in Requests for Proposal (RFP) and Requests for Quote (RFQ) in support of new business generation.

Description and Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years in Manufacturing or Engineering background
  • 3+ years' experience in Project or Program Management
  • Strong communications skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years in procurement/supply chain/product management in the server industry
  • PMP certification
  • Customer-centric attitude, attention to detail, and demonstrated creativity in problem-solving.
  • Ability to work independently on projects, manage day-to-day assignments, and collaborate as a proactive team leader.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced global environment and meet aggressive deadlines.
  • Strong desire to grow career quickly within a quickly developing global organization as an industry leader by taking on further responsibilities and personal career development
  • Possess a positive attitude and high standards for creative executions.
  • Strong multitasking and interpersonal skills
