Eaton is seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer - Electrical to support manufacturing cells for electrical/electro‑mechanical components in Orchard Park, NY.

You will manage process documents, tooling, and test equipment, driving continuous improvement and ergonomic assessments to meet Aerospace-grade requirements. The role requires hands-on experience with testing hardware, PCB testing, and assembly processes, plus the ability to lead cross-functional teams and implement robust manufacturing

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and minimum three (3) years of work experience in electrical component manufacturing or testing.
  • OR Associates/Technical degree and a minimum five (5) years of work experience in electrical component manufacturing or testing.
  • Experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power supplies.
  • U.S. person status for ITAR compliance and no relocation within 70 mile radius of Orchard Park, NY.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety, ergonomics, and management of change aligned with site goals.
  • Create and revise Manufacturing Processes and Work Instructions.
  • Design and maintain tooling and electronic test equipment for production.
  • Operate and troubleshoot with oscilloscopes, DMMs, and power supplies.
  • Apply PLC ladder logic and I/O knowledge for digital/analog devices.
  • Drive FPY and Overall Process Effectiveness improvements.
  • Support capital expenditures including ROI development and supplier quotes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address non-conformances and yield issues.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $86000 - $126000 a year.

What you’ll do:
Job summary

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will support manufacturing cells of new and existing electric/electro mechanical components and sub assemblies. In this role, you will be responsible for managing process documents, tooling and test equipment for production and development hardware, driving continuous improvement, performing ergonomic assessments and providing typical Manufacturing Engineering rigor required for Aerospace Industry product realization. This position is located in Orchard Park, NY.

Job responsibilities
  • Responsible for Safety, Ergonomics, and Management of Change activity in support of site safety goals.
  • Generate and revise Manufacturing Processes and Manufacturing Work Instructions.
  • Design, Maintain tooling and electronic test equipment for mature or new production.
  • Full understanding and use of DMM’s, Oscilloscopes, power sources.
  • Understand electric circuit troubleshooting theory and testing techniques.
  • Perform basic wiring tasks for testing and development.
  • Utilize experience with programming, PLC ladder logic and I/O for digital and analog devices.
  • Utilize working knowledge of single and three phase circuits.
  • Drive First Pass Yield (FPY) and Overall Process Effectiveness (OPE) improvement.
  • Provide timely support in resolving manufacturing issues.
  • Support Capital expenditures- define equipment needed, work with suppliers to get quotes, develop ROI.
  • Work with cross functional team to address non conformances and yield issues on products.
  • Understand, troubleshoot and test anomalous printed circuit boards.
  • Experience with manufacturing and testing of cable and harness assemblies.
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and minimum three (3) years of work experience in electrical component manufacturing or testing.
  • OR Associates/Technical degree and a minimum five (5) years of work experience in electrical component manufacturing or testing.
  • Prior experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power supplies.
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • No relocation is being offered for this position. Only candidates that reside within a 70 mile radius of Orchard Park, NY will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Technology, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Skills:
  • Experience/knowledge in Aerospace soldering specifications (IPC/J Std) and requirements.
  • Experience leading process improvements and continuous improvement projects.
  • Experience in troubleshooting/design of electrical test apparatus for production use.
  • Knowledge of PFMEAs (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis – within Manufacturing).
  • Organizational, communication, leadership, personal computing, performance management skills.
  • Experience with Solidworks modeling software, AutoCad electrical, labview.
  • Experience with digital and analog circuit/equipment design, testing and troubleshooting.
