Job summary

Auria is seeking a Sr Manufacturing Engineer to join its Corporate Engineering Team. This role can be based at any North America plant and may require up to 50% travel to support multiple locations.

You will manage equipment installations, infrastructure projects, and process improvements across North America, coordinating with contractors and plant personnel to meet budget and schedule goals. Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage plant infrastructure and equipment layout for new or relocated systems.
  • Coordinate contractors, vendors, program managers and schedule activities.
  • Develop detailed SOWs and quotes for equipment and refurbishment projects.
  • Track project costs against budgets and perform risk analyses.
  • Utilize AutoCAD for layout and design work and supervise installations.
  • Ensure safety procedures including LOTO compliance and daily contractor sign-in/out.

Description

Auria is a leading global supplier of highly-engineered systems for automotive flooring, acoustical, thermal, aerodynamic and other fiber-based solutions for gas and electric vehicles. With U.S.-based operational headquarters in Southfield, Michigan, Auria operates 16 manufacturing, 9 technical and 5 JV locations across 10 countries and employs approximately 3,900 people worldwide. We are currently searching for Sr Manufacturing Engineer to join our Corporate Engineering Team. This role can be based within any of our North America plants, and will be determined upon the successful candidate’s location. This role will support our locations with management of installations of new equipment and plant infrastructure, process related support and help with equipment downtime recovery and require up to 50% travel to support our plants within the North America region.

What you will do:
  • Plant infrastructure preparation for new or relocated equipment.
  • Plant facility improvement projects.
  • Formalize detailed SOWs for contractor/ rigging quoting activities.
  • Quote new equipment when required.
  • Quote refurbishment of equipment.
  • Complete scheduling from Equipment Vendors, Contractors, Program Managers.
  • Cost tracking for each project against approved budget amounts.
  • Conduct risk analysis for each project and complete appropriate Auria documentation including contractor review and signoff.
  • Use Auto Cad for layout and other design projects.
  • Oversee and manage equipment installations with contractors and or plant personnel including timing and costs.
  • Conduct Safety Training for all contractors or sub-contractors, completing JSA for each contractor discipline and other appropriate information required for the project. Ensure that Plant Safety Presentation is reviewed and all contractors sign in and out daily.
  • Ensure LOTO/control of hazardous energy is adhered to by contractors for the specific equipment included in the project.
  • Support the manufacturing sites with process troubleshooting and or improvements
  • Assist Auria locations with equipment issues.
  • Assist with identifying spare parts for equipment.
  • Extensive overtime and weekend work.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you will bring:
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience
  • 7-10 years of experience in a previous role, preferred
Travel Requirements:
  • Ability to travel up to 50% to North America based plants
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:
  • Knowledge of manufacturing equipment and systems involving thermoforming, IR ovens, hot air ovens, polyurethane foam, molding, waterjet cutting and robotics
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and contractors
  • Knowledge of equipment safety systems and the use of those systems related to manufacturing equipment
  • Understanding of electrical loads and sizing of components.
  • Ability to use AutoCad for design and layout work, 3D Cad preferred but not required.
  • Ability to develop technical documentation and scope of work for plant infrastructure requirements and equipment installations
  • Ability to communicate cross functionally with both plant and corporate teams
