Position Overview:
The role of a Sr Manufacturing Engineer is crucial for driving innovation and success in our high-growth environment by designing, developing, and enhancing manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced setting, demonstrating a commitment to innovation, quality, and safety. This position offers the opportunity to improve and support new and existing manufacturing processes, and automated technologies to manufacture high-quality products efficiently.
Areas of Focus:
Process Optimization and Innovation: Enhance manufacturing efficiency and product quality through innovative process design and technology integration, by Supporting Automation Technologies and electrical logic control systems.
Project Management and Capital Initiatives: Lead capital projects from planning through execution, ensuring they meet budget and schedule objectives.
Regulatory Compliance and Safety: Ensure all process designs and operations comply with local and federal regulations and focus on creating a safe and ergonomic work environment.
Continuous Improvement: Implement Lean manufacturing principles to minimize waste and optimize productivity.
Main Responsibilities:
Design and develop robust manufacturing processes by identifying key functions and ensuring they are optimized, defined, and controlled.
Troubleshoot issues to improve manufacturing efficiency and product quality, employing statistical methods to identify critical process variables.
Lead and provide expertise on cross-functional teams, offering process-related insights to support company objectives.
Manage the planning, budgeting, and implementation of capital projects, maintaining responsibility for all project-related expenditures.
Apply Lean manufacturing techniques such as SMED, Poke Yoke, Kan-Bans, and TPM to enhance production lines and systems.
Oversee the maintenance schedules for production machinery, enhancing corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance practices.
Develop and maintain engineering documentation, including Process Flow Diagrams, pFMEA, Control Plans, Job Element Sheets, Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures.
Continues improvement techniques, such as: PDCA, problem resolution, DOE, A3 thinking, etc.
Ensure compliance with ISO-9001 standards and other relevant regulatory requirements.
Works with the Technical Training Department to support the certification of operators and technicians on critical operations.
Basic Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering.
At least 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with an understanding of manufacturing processes and automation.
SPC knowledge for process improvement thru process capability
Knowledge of industrial robots (programing and troubleshooting), PLC and Electrical Controls
Proven project management skills with a track record of leading successful projects.
High proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and statistical analysis software, preferably MiniTab.
Possession of a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or a commitment to obtain American Society of Quality (ASQ) certification.
Excellent technical writing skills and the ability to produce clear, concise engineering documentation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Engineering or related field.
Six Sigma Black Belt certification by the American Society of Quality (ASQ).
Strong leadership skills with experience in supervising and guiding teams.
Advanced problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to tackling challenges in a business context.
Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing business needs.
Willingness to travel as required for project needs.
Additional Information:
This position may require occasional travel to support project implementation and process standardization across facilities.
Salary Range $113,069 – $145,000.
