Job summary

Aspire Talent Solutions is recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager in the Milwaukee area. You will bridge design engineering and the production floor, driving production capability, quality improvements, cost reductions, safety, and line efficiency.

Responsibilities include leading line setup, introducing new products, establishing standards, and advancing continuous improvement initiatives. Strong Lean/Six Sigma background and CAD experience are required; BS in engineering with 5–12

Qualifications

• BS Engineering required; Master’s preferred.
• Experience: 5–12 years in manufacturing engineering in large assembly operations.
• Proficiency in CAD tools (Pro-E/Creo) and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Take the lead on setup assembly line, establish processes and documentation.
• Bring mobile equipment products from design hand-off to completion.
• Plan, support, and lead introduction of products to the manufacturing floor and integrate new processes.
• Lead the development of operation method standards for assembly.
• Apply Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement to reduce waste.
• Troubleshoot production line problems and mitigate risk.
• Lead design initiatives in line/cell layout, tooling and part flow.
• Justify capital equipment investments.
• Advance safety and ergonomic practices.

As the link between design engineering and the production floor you provide the manufacturing expertise needed to implement the production of new products as well as processing changes to existing products. This position reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.

What you will be doing:

• Take the lead on setup assembly line, establish processes and documentation
• Bring mobile equipment products from design hand-off to completion
• Plan, support, and lead introduction of products to the manufacturing floor. Manages the integration of new products into existing lines with an understanding of new processes that affect online balance, pFMEA, and line efficiency.
• Lead the development of Operation Method Standards (i.e. how best to assemble products)
• Uses advanced understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement concepts needed for reduction of waste within manufacturing processes
• Troubleshoot production line problems
• Lead initiatives that mitigate risk, maintain ISO compliance, and reduce costs
• Lead design initiatives within the manufacturing process, including line / cell layout, tooling and part flow
• Capital equipment justification
• Work to advance safety and ergonomic practices

What they are looking for

• BS Engineering, a Master’s would be great
• 5 to 12 years of experience in manufacturing engineering in a large assembly operation
• Proficient computer skills including CAD (Pro-E / Creo would be great), Word, Excel, and Access
• Knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma
• Ideally, prior experience establishing in assembly line from concept into production
