Job description

Job Summary

This position is responsible for managing the implementation, maintenance, and critical review and analysis of models, studies, and systems that use actuarial principles for pricing, underwriting, statistics, reserving, forecasting, and other actuarial functions. The role involves developing complicated models, teaching colleagues to build models, creating written and oral presentations for decision-making, and managing complex day‑to‑day projects that may involve non‑actuarial departments and external partners.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the implementation, maintenance, and critical review & analysis of actuarial models, studies, and systems.
  • Develop sophisticated models and train others in model development.
  • Create written and oral presentations that drive decision‑making.
  • Oversee complex day‑to‑day projects involving non‑actuarial departments and external parties.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Economics. Other bachelor's (or higher) degrees may be considered.
  • Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) and Membership in the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA), with full compliance with each professional designation’s membership requirements.
  • Minimum of 5 years of actuarial experience in health insurance or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a management or lead capacity.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for documentation, training, and presentations.
  • Proficiency in PC applications, including Word and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with SQL, Visual Basic, or other programming languages.
  • Experience in Medicare PartD.
Additional Information
  • Hybrid work arrangement: 3 days in office per week.
