Job summary

Health Care Service Corp. seeks an experienced actuary to implement and analyze actuarial models for pricing, underwriting, and forecasting. This is a hybrid position, with in-office work required three times a week.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, ASA exam completion, and at least two years of actuarial experience. Comprehensive health benefits, a 401(k) plan, and paid time off are part of the offer.

Job Summary

The position involves participating in implementation, maintenance, and detailed analysis of actuarial models, studies, and systems used for pricing, underwriting, statistics, reserving, forecasting, and other actuarial functions. The role also requires running and developing complex models, performing detailed analysis of results, and developing simple written and oral presentations for decision-making.

Responsibilities
  • Implement and maintain actuarial models, studies, and systems.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of models and systems for pricing, underwriting, statistics, reserving, forecasting, and other actuarial functions.
  • Run and develop complex models and analyze results.
  • Develop simple written and oral presentations to provide basic information for decision-making.
  • Understand basic business and actuarial concepts.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Economics. Other Bachelor (or higher) Degrees may be considered.
  • Completion of 3 ASA (Associate of the Society of Actuaries) exam equivalents based on Society of Actuaries Education and Examination System.
  • At least 2 years of actuarial experience.
  • Verbal and written communication skills for effective documentation, training, development, and presentations.
  • PC proficiency in Word and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Access, SQL, Visual Basic, or other programming skills.
  • Actuarial experience in the health insurance or related field.

Pay Transparency: Base Pay Range $61,500.00 - $136,100.00. Compensation varies based on job-related skills, education, knowledge, and experience.

Location & Work Arrangement

This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days a week in the office. VISA sponsorship is not available.
