Job description

DESCRIPTION:

The Amazon University Talent Acquisition (AUTA) team is looking to hire a Sr. Manager to lead the WW Amazon Stores University Talent Acquisition Team. Recruiting the right candidates for Amazon is critical to our ability to innovate and build on behalf of customers. AUTA is seeking a passionate, results-oriented, and inventive Sr. Manager with strong client relationship skills, people development and the ability to think differently about how we have delivered talent in North America. This Sr. Manager will work closely with business leadership in North America, while also acting as a global point of contact for all hiring done for these businesses globally.
This role will provide the opportunity to significantly shape and own how we think about Talent Acquisition (TA) within this business as well as being in a great position to directly contribute to the overall global strategy. Other offerings include career growth, working with highly collaborative teams, and a fun and passionate work environment.

Key job responsibilities:

  1. Act as a global single threaded leader for the WW Amazon Stores lines of business and partner closely with international TA leaders to ensure we are hiring the best talent globally and delivering the right results for the business in each region.
  2. Partner with key stakeholders (Business Leaders, Hiring Managers, HR Business Partners and Recruiting Managers) to determine future talent needs and appropriate sourcing strategies; this requires a deep understanding through extensive market research of the channels where we can find the best, diverse talent who fit our business, technical and cultural demands.
  3. Build, engage, manage and develop a team of high-performing staff in an extremely fast-paced and ambiguous environment.
  4. Set team performance goals and metrics, timelines and a formal tracking process to measure and manage progress.
  5. Develop and execute plans to identify and drive productivity improvements that enable the team to deliver to hiring goals without having to scale deployed resources at a rate faster than the business is growing.
  6. Periodically lead and/or participate in cross-business/cross-company special projects and initiatives related to talent acquisition.

About the team:

Amazon's University Talent Acquisition team plays a pivotal role in fueling Amazon's growth and innovation. Guided by a customer-centric approach, we work with our internal business partners to identify, recruit, and onboard top-tier student talent from diverse backgrounds. Our commitment to excellence drives us to raise the bar with each new hire, balancing scalability with a relentless focus on quality. Operational efficiency, data-driven insights and a globally-minded, locally-responsive mindset enable us to create seamless experiences that meet the evolving needs of our dynamic business.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent post-secondary degree.
  2. 10+ years of Recruiting and/or HR experience.
  3. 5+ years leading a team.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Experience building, coaching and managing a recruiting team and business-facing function.
  2. Experience creating and executing effective talent acquisition strategies and influencing senior stakeholders.
