As part of our One Global Team, this role offers the opportunity to work closely with colleagues across the U.S., Jordan, and the UK. The Vice President of Tax – Group is based in the U.S., and the Senior Tax Manager will report to the Senior Director of U.S. Tax Operations.
This position supports a broad range of tax matters, including U.S. and international tax planning, tax accounting under IFRS and U.S. GAAP, and U.S. federal and state/local tax compliance and audits. The Senior Tax Manager will play a key role in managing U.S. tax provision and compliance processes, while also contributing to the development and execution of local, regional, and global tax strategies.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and review U.S. federal and state income tax returns, including the calculation of tax credits and incentives, analysis of taxable income, and state allocation and apportionment
Manage the preparation and timely filing of extensions and quarterly estimated tax payments for income and franchise taxes
Provide support for indirect tax matters, including sales and use tax compliance, nexus analysis, and assistance during audits and inquiries from tax authorities
Conduct tax technical research to stay current with evolving tax laws and ensure compliance across all tax reporting functions
Support federal and state tax audits by coordinating data collection, preparing workpapers, and conducting analytical reviews to substantiate Hikma’s tax positions
Prepare and analyze two cycles of the tax provision, interim and annual: including current and deferred provisions, balance sheet reconciliations, provision-to-return true-ups, effective tax rate reconciliations, uncertain tax positions analyses, and valuation allowance assessments
Assist with inquiries from internal and external auditors during interim and annual financial audits
Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, and Business teams to ensure integrated tax planning and compliance
Analyze financial and tax data to identify trends, assess risks, and uncover opportunities to support tax planning and compliance efforts
Conduct thorough tax research on complex tax issues and stay informed about new developments, regulatory updates, and best practices in U.S. tax
Utilize tax technology tools to enhance efficiency, streamline processes, and identify opportunities for automation and process improvement
Contribute to special projects and strategic tax initiatives as assigned by management
Qualifications:
BA/BS degree in Accounting; CPA or MST (Mater Science in Taxation) is strongly preferred
8+ years of tax experience in a multinational corporate environment and/or public accounting preferred
Strong knowledge and experience with ASC 740, U.S. tax compliance, and advanced tax technical and research skills
Experience in working with a diverse group of professionals globally; solid communication and people skills
Proficient MS Excel skill, knowledge of OneSource Tax Provision, OneSource Income Tax, and SAP are desirable
Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasks
Deep desire to perform with the best practice to enhance internal process and to manage tax risks.
Interested in international travel a plus
