Job description

Our client, a midsized regional CPA firm, is seeking a Tax Manager or Senior Manager to join their team.

Position Details

This position is remote, but candidates must be based in Oregon or Washington states.

Responsibilities

1. Manage and coordinate tax compliance and advisory work for our business clients.
2. Review Federal, C-Corporation, S-Corporation, and Partnership tax returns.
3. Lead client relationships on day-to-day tax matters, supporting partners with service execution and development of extended services.
4. Research and consult on technical matters and special projects.
5. Build and manage client relationships while developing and maintaining business development leads.
6. Serve in a leadership role on client projects, including planning and project management, resulting in successful completion of tax planning, advisory, accounting, and compliance projects with exceptional client service.
7. Perform reviews of reports and other client deliverables to ensure high quality, balancing firm risk and compliance with professional standards.
8. Identify and communicate internal business improvement opportunities.
9. Solve strategic issues requiring analytical skills and a deep understanding of tax regulations.

Experience Requirements

1. Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or a related discipline.
2. At least 5 years of recent experience in public accounting.
3. Demonstrated supervisory experience in public accounting.
4. CPA certification strongly preferred.
5. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
6. Proficiency in MS Office suite.

Additional Experience for Specific Roles

1. Tax Manager: 5+ years with the above experience. Salary range: $120,000 - $145,000.
2. Tax Senior Manager: 7+ years with the above experience. Salary range: $150,000 - $180,000+.
