Sr Manager - Software Engineering - US Remote

As a leader and contributor with vision, you will provide technology expertise, solutions, and help improve by recruiting and hiring top engineering talent. You will work with product owners to articulate the benefits of proposed solutions, influence the technical roadmap, and help prioritize work. This position requires a passion for technology strategy and adoption, including digital technologies, cloud hosting, and open-source software.

Responsibilities

• Guide software engineering teams responsible for designing and delivering high-quality software for critical business features, built on native cloud tech to the newest technology standards.
• Collaborate with Architecture, Data, Product, and Enterprise partners to advance these products and platforms.
• Define patterns and deliver technology enabling configuration-based deployments using standard pipelines for consumer experiences within Anywhere.
• Establish best practices for logging and monitoring production consumer systems to meet business expectations.
• Work with product owners to articulate benefits, influence the technical roadmap, and assist in prioritizing work.
• Research, implement, and promote standard processes; share knowledge across teams and the organization.
• Define and pursue an end state based on simplicity, digital technology adoption, cloud hosting, and open-source software.
• Assist in designing new applications and estimating effort for development tasks.
• Provide thought leadership in technology and help raise the talent bar by recruiting top engineering talent.
• Address issues impacting design, sales success, or future products and technologies.
• Work with complex ideas and issues across business and functional areas.

Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years in software engineering, including design, DevOps, and solution/data architecture with hands-on expertise.
• At least 4+ years managing and developing engineering teams.
• Experience building services using cloud technologies like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• 8+ years working with the MEAN stack: Angular, NodeJS, Express, MongoDB Atlas.
• 8+ years as a Node.js developer creating microservices and RESTful APIs.
• 4+ years in DevOps, developing deployment pipelines.
• Strong belief in thorough testing, resiliency, monitoring, documentation, and collaboration.
• Extensive knowledge of solution patterns and frameworks.
• Effective communication with product, business, and management teams.
• Proven project management, financial, and vendor management skills.
• Understanding of organizational goals and objectives.
• Experience with Agile methodologies.
• Values truth and evidence over ego.
