Job summary

Universal Logistics Holdings is seeking a site Quality Lead at the Mertztown, PA facility to drive all quality programs, lead audits, and partner with operations to meet customer requirements. You will manage continuous improvement initiatives and develop robust procedures to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency across the site.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, strong leadership and analytical skills, and proven experience with Lean/Six Sigma and quality systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Leadership experience in quality, manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, or automotive operations.
  • Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement principles.
  • Strong knowledge of quality systems, audits, and process controls.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and operational reporting tools.
  • Ability to work effectively with customers, suppliers, and employees at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all site quality programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality procedures, standards, and work instructions.
  • Manage customer quality expectations and serve as the primary quality contact for Mack Trucks.
  • Coordinate and successfully complete internal, customer, and corporate quality audits.
  • Investigate quality concerns and lead root cause and corrective action activities.
  • Monitor and report quality-related KPIs and performance metrics.
  • Drive process improvements that enhance safety, quality, productivity, and cost performance.
  • Supervise, train, coach, and develop quality personnel.
  • Partner with operations leadership to ensure compliance with customer requirements and company policies.
  • Support inventory accuracy, material flow, and warehouse quality processes.
  • Analyze data and trends to identify opportunities for operational improvement.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Support environmental and quality management systems while maintaining all required documentation and records.
  • Participate as a member of the facility leadership team and support overall business objectives.

Our operation is based in Mertztown, PA and supports Mack Trucks through production support, warehousing, inventory management, and material flow activities. We work closely with Mack's onsite leadership to ensure materials are delivered safely, efficiently, and accurately to support manufacturing operations.

What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For
