Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Sr. Operations Manager to lead all production operations at the Franklin Furnace facility in Ohio.

You will drive safe, efficient manufacturing, meet schedules and customer commitments, and partner with engineering, quality, supply chain, and maintenance to remove barriers to production and improve flow. The role emphasizes coaching and developing production managers and supervisors, improving standard work, and delivering continuous improvement across the plant.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4+ years of managerial experience.
• A minimum of 10 years in manufacturing or related leadership roles.
• Proven success implementing lean practices in high-mix, low-volume environments.
• Strong analytical, communication, and team-building abilities.
• Knowledge of Lean tools: Kanban, SMED, 5S, Kaizen, A3.
• Experience with MRP/PLM systems and manufacturing dashboards.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day production operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and timely manufacture of products while meeting plant attainment and delivery goals.
• Provide direct leadership, coaching, and development to production staff at all levels.
• Serve as the primary operational leader, aligning resources, staffing, equipment, and materials to meet daily and long-term goals.
• Drive production performance by executing manufacturing priorities.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Planning to resolve issues and improve flow.
• Improve standard work and implement visual management for continuous improvement.
• Monitor KPIs such as schedule attainment, adherence, and on-time delivery.
• Set clear expectations and maintain a visible leadership presence on the floor.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Description

We are seeking a Sr. Operations Manager to provide hands-on leadership for all production operations within the Franklin Furnace manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for driving safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing while ensuring production schedules, customer delivery commitments, and operational performance objectives are consistently achieved. This individual will work closely with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and other cross-functional teams to remove barriers to production and improve on-time delivery.

• Lead all day-to-day production operations, ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely manufacture of products while meeting plant attainment, schedule adherence and customer expectations.
• Provide direct leadership, coaching, and development to production managers, supervisors, team leads, and manufacturing employees. Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, engagement, and continuous improvement.
• Serve as the primary operational leader for the facility, ensuring production resources, staffing, equipment, and materials are effectively aligned to meet daily and long-term production goals.
• Drive production performance through execution of manufacturing priorities.
• Partner closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Maintenance, and Planning to proactively resolve production issues, eliminate bottlenecks, and improve manufacturing flow.
• Improve standard work, implementing visual management, facilitating continuous improvement initiatives, and driving sustainable process improvements.
• Monitor and drive key performance indicators (KPIs) like schedule attainment, schedule adherence and on-time delivery.
• Establish clear expectations, communicate business objectives, and maintain a visible leadership presence on the production floor through daily engagement with employees.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

• 4+ years of managerial experience.
• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing, operations, plant management, or a related industrial environment.
• Demonstrated success implementing lean practices in high-mix, low-volume environments
• Strong analytical, communication, and team-building abilities
• Knowledge of Lean tools (Kanban, SMED, 5S, Kaizen, A3)
• Ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
• Experience working with MRP/PLM systems and manufacturing dashboards.
