Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Sr. Operations Manager to lead production at the Franklin Furnace facility, ensuring safe, efficient manufacturing and on-time delivery.

You will partner with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance and other teams to remove barriers and realize continuous improvement on the shop floor. The role demands 4+ years of management and 10+ years in manufacturing leadership, with Lean experience in high-mix, low-volume environments, strong analytical and communication

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of managerial experience.
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing.
  • Experience implementing lean practices in high-mix, low-volume environments.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and team-building abilities.
  • Knowledge of Lean tools: Kanban, SMED, 5S, Kaizen, A3.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day production operations to meet schedules and delivery.
  • Coach and develop production managers and staff, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Align resources, staffing, equipment, and materials with daily and long-term goals.
  • Drive performance via manufacturing priorities and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Maintenance, Planning to resolve issues.
  • Improve standard work and implement visual management to enhance flow.
  • Monitor KPIs like schedule attainment and on-time delivery.
  • Communicate objectives and maintain leadership presence on the floor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description

We are seeking a Sr. Operations Manager to provide hands-on leadership for all production operations within the Franklin Furnace manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for driving safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing while ensuring production schedules, customer delivery commitments, and operational performance objectives are consistently achieved. This individual will work closely with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and other cross-functional teams to remove barriers to production and improve on-time delivery.

  • Lead all day-to-day production operations, ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely manufacture of products while meeting plant attainment, schedule adherence and customer expectations.
  • Provide direct leadership, coaching, and development to production managers, supervisors, team leads, and manufacturing employees. Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as the primary operational leader for the facility, ensuring production resources, staffing, equipment, and materials are effectively aligned to meet daily and long-term production goals.
  • Drive production performance through execution of manufacturing priorities.
  • Partner closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Maintenance, and Planning to proactively resolve production issues, eliminate bottlenecks, and improve manufacturing flow.
  • Improve standard work, implementing visual management, facilitating continuous improvement initiatives, and driving sustainable process improvements.
  • Monitor and drive key performance indicators (KPIs) like schedule attainment, schedule adherence and on-time delivery.
  • Establish clear expectations, communicate business objectives, and maintain a visible leadership presence on the production floor through daily engagement with employees.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required:

  • 4+ years of managerial experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing, operations, plant management, or a related industrial environment.
  • Demonstrated success implementing lean practices in high-mix, low-volume environments
  • Strong analytical, communication, and team-building abilities
  • Knowledge of Lean tools (Kanban, SMED, 5S, Kaizen, A3)
  • Ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Experience working with MRP/PLM systems and manufacturing dashboards.
