Job description

The Sr Manager of Project Controls will be responsible to lead the project controls function for the construction of the new Chobani $1.2 billion greenfield site in Rome, NY. Responsibilities in this pivotal position include overseeing all aspects of project controls including cost, controls, scheduling. The successful candidate will perform project life-cycle schedule planning, manage budgets, forecast costs, produce periodic and ad-hoc reports, collaborate with multiple stakeholders, and participate in project risk assessments to ensure schedules reflect project risks and/or opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Overseeing project control function including schedule development and management, performance measurement and reporting, earned value analysis, change control and management, cost budgeting and forecasting, and risk management.
  • Developing project controls procedures and systems
  • Leading project controls contract team including schedulers, cost controllers, quantity surveyors, change manager, and document controllers.
  • Managing stakeholders by building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Understand contracts and advise project leadership on appropriate actions regarding contracts.
  • Driving compliance for schedule, cost, and change management processes
  • Identifying multifaceted problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Facilitating meetings to solve critical problems and provide clear direction to team members on the actions needed to manage and mitigate any critical issues.
  • Setting up project reporting calendar and ensuring the Project controls team prepare control reports in line with the reporting calendar.
  • Managing the assurance of project controls data and ensuring adherence with standards and processes established for the project.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, project/ construction management, or a related field.
  • 10-15+ years’ experience in project management, project controls or similar roles.
  • Experience with managing large portfolios with 5-10+ direct reports.
  • Experience in engineering and construction project environment
  • Professional industry credentials such as PMP is considered a strong asset.
  • Strong knowledge of project management techniques and principles
  • Excellent relationship-building skills to interact with clients and colleagues.
  • Strong time management, problem solving, and analytical skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to details
  • Occasional travel to vendors and other Chobani sites is required.
