Expect to define an IT roadmap, lead SOC 2 readiness, and optimize vendor relationships. You will collaborate with executives to support a distributed workforce, automate onboarding/offboarding, and balance security with usability.

Qualifications

  • At least 7 years of experience in IT, systems administration, or technical operations.
  • At least 1–2 years of experience in an IT leadership or management role, ideally within a SaaS company or startup environment.
  • Hands‑on experience administering identity and access management (IAM), mobile device management (MDM), SAML/SSO integrations, and Google Workspace.
  • Practical scripting and automation experience, with the ability to work comfortably in command-line environments and administrative consoles.
  • Familiarity with endpoint security tools and cross-platform device management across Mac, Windows, and mobile devices.
  • Experience implementing or supporting security controls and compliance requirements, particularly SOC 2.
  • Strong operational mindset, with the ability to resolve support issues while building systems and processes that prevent recurring problems.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and measure operational effectiveness through system uptime, resolution times, and employee experience.
  • Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
  • High degree of ownership, accountability, and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to balancing security and compliance requirements with usability and employee productivity.
  • Interest in using AI and modern technologies to improve efficiency, automate workflows, and strengthen IT operations.
  • Ability to work remotely with at least four hours overlap each day with the team's core working hours.
  • Willingness to attend in-person interviews in Austin, Texas, if required.

Responsibilities

  • Own and continuously improve internal IT operations, including endpoint management, identity and access management, SaaS administration, and corporate infrastructure.
  • Maintain reliable systems and provide effective technical support to keep employees productive.
  • Develop and execute a near-term IT roadmap aligned with organizational growth, identifying gaps, prioritizing improvements, and delivering solutions consistently.
  • Manage the IT and corporate technology budget, oversee vendor relationships and renewals, negotiate contracts, and identify opportunities to reduce costs and eliminate redundant tools.
  • Lead internal IT support for SOC 2 audits by preparing evidence, maintaining controls, and implementing security policies and compliance standards.
  • Shift compliance practices toward proactive risk reduction through stronger controls, documentation, and ongoing security improvements.
  • Administer and secure Google Workspace and corporate identity infrastructure, including SSO, SAML configurations, conditional access policies, and endpoint security.
  • Manage endpoint security across Mac, Windows, and mobile devices using tools such as Microsoft Defender and Iru Avert.
  • Build and maintain automation for employee onboarding, offboarding, and hardware provisioning using low-code platforms, Google Apps Script, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Establish and enforce governance policies for AI tools, including access management, data privacy boundaries, and mitigation of shadow AI risks in collaboration with Engineering and Legal.
  • Maintain accurate, audit-ready documentation covering the corporate technology environment.
  • Deliver internal training on security best practices, security hygiene, and data privacy.
  • Use AI tools to improve documentation, resolve routine support requests, develop automations, and identify recurring support trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Partner with department leaders and executives to resolve operational bottlenecks and support the needs of a distributed workforce.
