Job summary

Amazon Search Science Data Infrastructure (SSDI) team in Palo Alto is building training data systems and federated feature stores to support ML model training and real-time signals for search ranking and personalization. This role leads a senior engineering team responsible for scalable, data-intensive services that power ML lifecycle and observability tooling across hundreds of science teams.

You will drive technical direction, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product managers to deliver

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience
• 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
• 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams

Responsibilities

• Establish a culture fueled with customer-obsessed innovation and engineering excellence
• Build training data systems to provide high-quality customer engagement signals as a feedback loop to the search ranking and matching models powering the Amazon Search experience
• Engage closely with the team and provide technical leadership, strategic direction, and oversight to ensure timely delivery with high quality
• Mentor the professional development of each direct report through personal and performance management
• Attract, excite, grow, and retain top engineering talent
• Build strong relationships with your customers, peers, and stakeholders
