Job summary

Amazon in Palo Alto is seeking a Senior Manager to lead the Search Capacity team, guiding BI engineers, data scientists, and program managers to scale the Search service while controlling costs.

You will own capacity planning, KPI tracking, and hardware budgeting, developing automation tools and models to meet current and future SLAs. A strong leadership record and AWS data stack experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent, or 2+ years in a quantitative field like statistics, data science, economics, or engineering.
• 3+ years of people management and team development experience.
• Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.
• Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or Quicksight.
• Experience in leading large, complex initiatives and delivering critical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of BI engineers, data scientists, and program managers.
• Scale the Amazon Search service through cross-team collaboration and capacity planning.
• Identify and track KPIs around efficiency and costs.
• Manage planning, budgeting, and procurement of hardware and resources.
• Develop tools to automate capacity planning and resource management.
• Analyze resource utilization and model hardware needs to meet SLAs.
