Amazon Search Science Data Infrastructure (SSDI) in Palo Alto is hiring a Software Engineer II to lead data infrastructure at the intersection of ML, big data, and distributed systems. You will drive the lifecycle of ML models, feature engineering, and data quality monitoring, working with AWS AI services and core search backends.

The role focuses on building scalable, data-intensive services used by hundreds of science teams across Amazon, enabling data-driven decisions and robust inference

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) experience.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of services and infrastructure at the intersection of machine learning, big data, and distributed systems.
• Manage the machine learning lifecycle and operations using AWS AI services and core search backend services.
• Provide a world-class platform for engineers to observe and introspect applications pre- and post-deployment.
• Build scalable data-intensive infrastructure processing large volumes of logs, catalogs, transactional data, and telemetry signals.
• Collaborate with partners on data experimentation to advance Amazon product search across regions.
