The Senior FP&A Manager - Operations is a senior member of the FP&A Operations team and acts as the principal deputy to the Director of FP&A Operations. The role leads operational performance management, ensuring Operations leaders and the C-suite have timely, accurate and actionable insight into financial and operational results. This position owns weekly KPI reporting and the preparation of monthly performance-review packs, with particular focus on labor productivity, controllable costs and forecast delivery. The role works directly with Operations leaders to identify the causes of performance gaps, agree corrective actions and track delivery. It also supports the Director in coordinating FP&A priorities and developing junior members of the team.
1.Act as the principal deputy and second-in-command to the Director of FP&A Operations, helping coordinate team priorities, maintain delivery standards and represent the function in meetings when delegated.
2.Lead the operational performance-management cadence, establishing clear reporting routines, performance measures and accountability across banners, regions and sites.
3.Own and continuously improve weekly and monthly reporting of key operational metrics, including sales, transactions, average transaction value, fuel gallons, margin, labor, controllable costs and other business drivers.
4.Own the preparation of monthly performance-review packs and presentations for Operations leadership and the C-suite, combining financial results, operational KPIs, executive commentary, risks, opportunities and focused calls to action.
5. Create clear, executive-quality slides, reports and dashboards that explain performance drivers and enable timely, commercially informed decisions.
6.Partner closely with Operations leaders to investigate performance gaps, identify root causes, agree practical corrective actions and track delivery through subsequent performance-review cycles.
7.Lead labor-performance reporting and analysis, including labor hours, labor cost, average wage rate, overtime, transactions per labor hour, labor-to-sales measures and other productivity indicators.
8.Identify labor-efficiency opportunities by banner, region and site; partner with Operations, HR and Payroll to develop initiatives, quantify expected benefits and monitor sustainable delivery.
9.Lead the end-to-end operating forecast cycle, including timetable management, assumptions, submissions, consolidation, challenge, scenario analysis, risks and opportunities, and executive commentary.
10. Lead the preparation of annual operating budgets, ensuring plans are driver-based, aligned with operational priorities and supported by clear assumptions and ownership.
11.Improve FP&A reporting tools, data quality, controls and processes through increased automation, consistent KPI definitions and efficient production of management information.
12.Mentor and develop junior FP&A team members through coaching, quality review, knowledge sharing and constructive feedback; provide day-to-day direction where assigned.
13. Lead ad hoc operational analysis and special performance-improvement projects for the Director, Operations leadership and senior management as required.
