Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in Finance, FP&A, Supply Chain Finance, Commercial Finance, Operations Finance, or related field.
  • Experience leading budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and business planning processes.
  • Proven ability to partner with operational leaders and influence decision-making.
  • Experience presenting financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership.

The Role

Based in our Chicago Wells office, the Senior Manager, Finance (Logistics) will serve as the primary Finance Business Partner to the Logistics organization, helping drive strategic decisions across transportation, warehousing, productivity initiatives, and supply chain operations.

This is not a traditional FP&A role. As the Senior Manager, you will be a key strategic partner to the logistics leadership team, helping shape business decisions across transportation, warehousing, and operational productivity. By combining financial expertise with operational insight, you will identify opportunities, solve complex business challenges, and drive initiatives that enhance performance and support profitable growth.

The successful candidate will be equally comfortable diving into the details and operating at a strategic level, influencing decisions, driving continuous improvement, and presenting insights into senior leadership.

Strategic Business Partnership

  • Serve as the lead Finance Business Partner for the Logistics function.
  • Partner closely with Logistics leaders to support and understand transportation networks, warehousing operations, freight spend, cost drivers, demand forecasts, and operational challenges.
  • Provide financial guidance and recommendations that support strategic decision-making.
  • Build strong cross-functional partnerships across Logistics, Supply Chain, Commercial Finance, Operations, and Leadership teams.
  • Act as a trusted advisor by identifying risks, opportunities, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and month-end financial processes for Logistics.
  • Deliver accurate financial reporting, variance analysis, and business insights.
  • Develop meaningful financial models and performance reporting that support decision-making.
  • Partner with business leaders to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve operational efficiency.
  • Support annual planning and long-range financial forecasting activities.

Productivity & Operational Excellence

  • Lead financial support for productivity programs and cost optimization initiatives.
  • Evaluate business cases and investment opportunities that improve logistics performance.
  • Support warehouse capacity optimization through financial analysis and strategic recommendations.
  • Develop new KPIs, dashboards, and performance metrics that drive better business decisions.
  • Identify opportunities to automate reporting and improve analytical capabilities across the function.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives that simplify processes and increase organizational effectiveness.
  • Monitor and provide insight into key logistics cost drivers.
  • Support fuel cost analysis, fuel risk management, and hedging-related activities.
  • Identify operational and financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure strong financial controls and governance within the logistics organization.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop finance talent within the team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and development opportunities that strengthen team capabilities.
  • Inspire high performance through effective leadership, communication, and influence.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in Finance, FP&A, Supply Chain Finance, Commercial Finance, Operations Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience leading budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and business planning processes.
  • Proven ability to partner with operational leaders and influence decision-making.
  • Experience presenting financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience supporting logistics, supply chain, manufacturing, distribution, transportation, or operational environments.
  • Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) experience is considered an asset.
  • Exposure to warehousing, transportation, logistics spend management, productivity

Compensation:

Compensation offered to prospective Team Members has taken internal equity into consideration and can vary depending on a positions’ location. The final agreed upon wage may vary based on the job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the individual.

  • Competitive annual salary from $138,000 to $165,000 based in Chicago, IL
