Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

The Role

We are seeking a Sr. Engineering Manager to manage a software development organization made up of multiple engineering teams. This role is essential for translating high-level strategies into actionable plans, ensuring alignment between teams, and driving the effective implementation of our engineering roadmap. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mix of technical knowledge, leadership, and project planning to ensure that our engineering efforts are well‑coordinated, successful, and impactful. You will be at the forefront of building a culture of collaboration and team performance, ensuring that projects will drive growth and take our resident and associate experience to the next level. What you’ll do day‑to‑day

Understand critical business and organizational strategies to craft a technical roadmap that aligns our systems and engineering teams to implement those strategies.

Work closely with Product, Product Design, and Delivery partners, to prepare projects. This includes identifying opportunities, risks, priorities, scope, and understanding cross‑functional concerns.

Guide and participate in exploration, design, documentation, and communication around system architecture, APIs, messages, and interfaces to third‑party systems.

Foster a healthy, collaborative, and generative culture in which individual creativity can thrive.

Grow and inspire our teams through a combination of coaching, mentoring, feedback, and career development.

Measure system and engineering team performance and work together to prioritize and implement improvements where they will have the greatest impact.

Provide guidance and support to ensure teams successfully deliver technical projects while maintaining accountability for outcomes.

Stay current with technology trends, encourage innovation, experiment with and learn new technologies, and participate in internal & external technology groups.

What You Bring

This candidate will be an experienced engineering leader who can turn business strategy into a technical roadmap and keep multiple teams aligned in an agile environment. They’ll pair deep technical skills with strong coaching, communication, and collaboration to build a high‑performing, innovative engineering culture.

Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of professional development experience, and 3+ years of recent experience managing or leading an engineering team
  • Experience working in agile development environment
  • Deep understanding of software and development engineering principles and concepts
  • Deep technical skills in one or more of the following areas: JavaScript development, database technologies (e.g. MSSQL, Postgres, DynamoDB), AWS serverless, CI/CD, Salesforce
  • Education/Certifications: Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field, or equivalent work experience
  • Skills/Specialized Knowledge: Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and function effectively in a fast‑paced work environment
  • Exhibit sound judgment and swift decision‑making skills
  • Exhibit strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to collaborate and build consensus with others
  • Knowledgeable about system design, data structures and algorithms
  • Experience working with distributed/scalable systems and high‑volume applications
  • Love of technology; actively seeks continuing education of current and emerging technologies
Physical and Mental Demands

This position will spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers. The position may also entail light lifting of supplies and materials occasionally, up to and including 20 pounds in addition to reaching, stooping, standing, and walking. This position requires the ability to talk, hear, compare, compute, compile, copy, analyze, coordinate, synthesize, negotiate and communicate. Salary Range

The salary range for this position is: $135,000.00 - $234,000.00, plus individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and applicable employment laws.
