Within this organization, the Governance and Business Operations team strengthens governance practices through forums, metrics and reporting, product governance, and disclosure management.

As Sr. Manager, Business Unit Risk, Product Governance, you will play a critical role in supporting Schwab Wealth Advisory and strategic initiatives designed to enhance capabilities and experiences for Ultra High Net Worth clients. You will guide product and offer teams through risk assessment and product review obligations across the pre-launch, launch, and post-implementation lifecycle, helping the business grow while managing risk thoughtfully and effectively.

This is an opportunity to become a trusted advisor in product governance, influence risk-based decisions, and collaborate with business, risk, compliance, legal, and governance partners. You will join a team that leads with integrity and service, succeeds together as One Schwab, and empowers employees to own their tomorrow through meaningful work, continuous learning, and broad exposure to strategic initiatives.

  • Support the development of mitigants and metrics that address new or evolving risks associated with product launches or modifications.
  • Engage partners across Wealth Advisory Risk & Governance to evaluate potential impacts to risk programs, including conflicts of interest, disclosures, policies, and supervision practices.
  • Establish and maintain roadmaps and timelines for required approvals and governance forum appearances.
  • Consult on and help prepare clear, decision-ready materials for governance forums.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor on the product review process, including pre-launch, launch, and post-launch obligations.
  • Build strong partnerships with business leaders and stakeholders involved in the Product Review Process to support a collaborative and effective governance approach.
  • Support product review reporting and governance updates for leadership.
  • Help implement processes and practices that improve operational efficiency and strengthen the product review experience.
  • Design and develop practical, business-guided resources for Wealth Advisory Services.
  • Execute risk or regulatory projects, as needed, through partnership with internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to improve the product review process and support other product- or governance-related initiatives.

Location & Work Arrangement: This hybrid role requires four days per week in the office and one remote workday. This position is only available in Westlake (DFW), TX; Austin, TX; and Orlando, FL and candidates must reside in, or be willing to relocate on their own to one of the listed locations.
