Skills and Competencies
  • 4+ years in an audit firm with exposure to SaaS companies or 4+ years of deal desk experience in a SaaS company.
  • CPA required
  • Knowledge of ASC606
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Strong communication skills for clear interaction with peers and third parties
  • Strong organizational, analytical skills, and attention to detail
  • Willingness and ability to learn new accounting expertise and BI tools
Nice to haves

Responsibilities
  • Oversee revenue recognition for a set of customers, from contract review to revenue recognition, supporting the finance transformation journey.
  • Ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition for your portfolio.
  • Responsible for contract reviews within your client portfolio.
  • Drive process and system automation using advanced technology tools.
  • Review supporting evidence like proof of delivery and signed contracts for revenue recognition appropriateness.
  • Prepare and update accounting schedules for ASC606 revenue calculation.
  • Perform analytical reviews on monthly revenue analytics and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Communicate revenue trends and flux clearly to internal partners.
  • Assist with system/data conversion files for acquisitions or upgrades.
  • Support internal and external audits with supporting schedules.
  • Assist in preparing revenue disclosures for external reporting.
  • Partner with Corporate Planning and business units on revenue-impacting items.
  • Engage continuously with stakeholders to improve data and processes.
  • Participate in other departmental projects as assigned.
About the team

The Moody's Analytics Revenue Accounting team (MARA) manages revenue recognition for Moody's Analytics, combining technical accounting expertise with analytical skills. The team reviews contracts under ASC 606 during negotiations and interprets legal clauses from an accounting perspective.

For US roles: the expected salary range is $112,000 - $162,400, based on experience, education, skills, and location. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, 401(k), insurance, stock purchase plans, and tuition reimbursement.
