Job summary

Woodward, Inc. in Fort Collins, CO is seeking a Senior Manager Accounting to lead the records-to-report functions during SAP S/4 rollout across sites. The role focuses on costing, intercompany, payroll, tax, and financial controls with 50% travel domestically and internationally.

The candidate will manage a team, ensure compliance, and deliver timely financial reporting while partnering with auditors, vendors, and leadership for strategic finance initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required.
  • US GAAP and SOX knowledge with strong regulatory compliance.

You will also be working closely with the other cross functional workstreams to ensure seamless end to end processes supporting training, testing, hypercare and system development.Domestic and International Travel 50% (possibly higher during site deployments of S/4).Areas of responsibilities that will include but are not limited to, Actual Costing with PMMO, Standard Costing, Inventory Controls, Intercompany, Payroll & Benefits, Lease Accounting, Capex/PPE, Financial Reporting, Taxes, Compliance/GAAP/SOX.Key Responsibilities:Compliance: A Senior Manager Accounting is responsible for ensuring that the organization complies with all financial regulations and laws. This includes maintaining accurate records, filing tax returns, and adhering to accounting standards.Managing the accounting team: A Senior Manager Accounting is responsible for managing a team of accounting professionals, including hiring, training, and mentoring team members, and ensuring that all accounting processes are completed accurately and in a timely manner.Financial analysis and reporting: A Senior Manager Accounting is responsible for overseeing the preparation and analysis of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. These reports are used to provide accurate financial information to stakeholders and help guide business decisions.Financial strategy: A Senior Manager Accounting is responsible for developing and implementing long-term financial strategies that align with the organization's goals and objectives. This includes identifying opportunities for growth and optimizing financial performance.Strategic partnerships: A Senior Manager Accounting is responsible for building and maintaining strategic partnerships with external and internal stakeholders, including auditors, vendors, and other financial professionals. This includes negotiating and reviewing contracts, managing relationships, and ensuring that the organization receives the best possible financial advice and guidance.Key Skills:Communication: The ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders, including executives, team members, and clients.Compliance: The ability to stay up to date on financial regulations and laws and ensure compliance with accounting standards.Financial analysis: The ability to analyze financial data and identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.Leadership: The ability to lead and motivate a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, direction, and support.Project management: The ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.Technology proficiency: The ability to use financial software and tools to manage accounting data, generate reports, and analyze financial performance.Strategic thinking: The ability to think beyond the day-to-day operations of the accounting department and consider how financial decisions will impact the organization as a whole.
