Job summary

Woodward, Inc. is seeking a Senior Manager Accounting to lead the accounting function and drive financial reporting across global sites. The role focuses on compliance, team leadership, and strategic financial initiatives while supporting end-to-end processes and system implementations.

The position requires CPA, extensive accounting experience, and the ability to manage, mentor and develop a high-performing team with cross-functional exposure. Travel up to 50% is anticipated.

Salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. Estimated annual base pay: $134,000 - $190,000.

What You Will Be Doing:

As a key member of the SAP S/4 implementation team, you will be supporting the Record to Report workstream in the implementation of SAP S/4 across our global sites over the next several years. You will also be working closely with the other cross functional workstreams to ensure seamless end to end processes supporting training, testing, hypercare and system development.

Domestic and International Travel

50% (possibly higher during site deployments of S/4).

Key Responsibilities
  • Compliance: A Senior Manager Accounting is responsible for ensuring that the organization complies with all financial regulations and laws. This includes maintaining accurate records, filing tax returns, and adhering to accounting standards.
  • Managing the accounting team: A Senior Manager Accounting is responsible for managing a team of accounting professionals, including hiring, training, and mentoring team members, and ensuring that all accounting processes are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Financial analysis and reporting: A Senior Manager Accounting is responsible for overseeing the preparation and analysis of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. These reports are used to provide accurate financial information to stakeholders and help guide business decisions.
  • Financial strategy: A Senior Manager Accounting is responsible for developing and implementing long-term financial strategies that align with the organization's goals and objectives. This includes identifying opportunities for growth and optimizing financial performance.
  • Strategic partnerships: A Senior Manager Accounting is responsible for building and maintaining strategic partnerships with external and internal stakeholders, including auditors, vendors, and other financial professionals. This includes negotiating and reviewing contracts, managing relationships, and ensuring that the organization receives the best possible financial advice and guidance.

Other Qualifications
  • US – Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) of Accounting or Finance required; Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required
