AutoZone is seeking a Sr. Building Maintenance Technician to lead maintenance planning, budgeting, and project support for facility improvements. The role develops preventive procedures for equipment and building systems and ensures work stays within budget constraints.

You will respond to emergencies after hours, coordinate with occupants and senior management, and supervise technicians while ensuring compliance with building and fire codes. Strong HVAC/refrigeration troubleshooting is required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Interact with building occupants and senior management to address questions and concerns.
  • Respond to afterhours emergency calls for the building.
  • Assist with planning long-range building repairs or improvements.
  • Assist with budget planning for the building.
  • Inform personnel of problems affecting production schedules.
  • Ensure facility compliance with local building and fire codes.
  • Troubleshoot HVAC, refrigeration, related controls, motors, etc.
  • Install and modify building equipment and systems.
  • Replace and repair building finishes (tiles, hardware, painting, piping).
  • Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe conditions.
  • Maintain and test fire and life safety systems.
  • Maintain tools and equipment; organize maintenance records and files.
  • Supervise technicians or temporary labor as needed.

Job description

The Sr. Building Maintenance Technician supports the planning, implementation, and continued support of facility projects, capital, expenditures, and improvements as needed. Additional responsibilities include the development of preventative maintenance procedures for new and existing equipment, and all building systems. The Sr. Building Maintenance Technician must be able to operate within a given budget (unless exceptions are granted).

  • Interact with building occupants including senior management (as needed) to answer questions or respond to complaints.
  • Respond to afterhours emergency calls for assigned building.
  • Assist with other buildings as needed.
  • Assist with planning of long-range building repairs or improvements
  • Assist with budget planning for the building
  • Inform appropriate personnel of problems and projects that will affect quality of production and production schedules.
  • Ensure compliance of facility meets local building and fire codes.
  • Assist with troubleshooting HVAC systems, refrigeration systems, related controls, motors etc.
  • Assist with installation and modification of building equipment and systems
  • Replace and repair building finishes such as ceiling tiles, door hardware, wallpaper, painting (walls), piping, floors, and equipment.
  • Respond immediately to emergency situations and customer concerns
  • Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions and preventative maintenance.
  • Maintain and test fire and life safety systems such as fire alarm systems, fire pumps, and related fire protection system equipment
  • Maintains tools and equipment through proper storage, training, and maintenance.
  • Plan weekly work schedule to ensure proper building maintenance
  • Set up and maintain maintenance records and project files
  • Supervise technicians or temp labor as needed for project work.
  • Ability to troubleshoot HVAC systems, refrigeration systems, related controls, motors etc.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, evaluate, and make recommendations to upgrade maintenance operations and/or implement savings opportunities
  • Possesses competent knowledge of the use and the care of tools and equipment used in facility and ground maintenance.
