Job summary

Welspunusa in Las Vegas, NV is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and support the safe operation of the facility and production equipment. You will perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance and contribute to continuous improvement of our maintenance program.

The role requires hands-on skills with electrical and mechanical systems, building and utilities, and collaboration with vendors and other departments.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and support production machinery, conveyors, motors, and other facility assets using manuals and guidance.
• Perform scheduled inspections, lubrication, cleaning, adjustments, and component replacements; assist with plans and checklists.
• Identify and access electrical panels and controls for maintenance, following safety rules.
• Maintain and repair building systems and structures such as doors, walls, floors, ceilings, and fixtures.
• Operate and maintain facility utility systems and equipment (air compressors, HVAC components, pumps, plumbing).
• Operate powered industrial equipment and assist with moving, installing, and repairing racks and shelves.
• Identify and correct unsafe conditions, maintain safety signage, report hazards.
• Support opening/closing procedures, facility security, alarms, and emergency response.
• Keep work areas clean and orderly; handle tools/materials safely and dispose of waste per site rules.
• Document work, inspections, parts used, and equipment conditions; report issues.
• Assist contractors and vendors with maintenance projects and facility improvements.
• Perform other maintenance and repair tasks as assigned by supervision.

Job description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and supporting the safe and reliable operation of the facility, production equipment, material-handling systems, utilities, building systems, and related assets. The position performs preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance; identifies potential problems before they result in downtime or unsafe conditions; and supports continuous improvement of the facility and

maintenance program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Reporting relationships, work assignments, and work schedules may be subject to change in order to meet company needs and business requirements. Duties include:

• Production & Equipment Maintenance: Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, repair, adjust, install, and support production machinery, conveyors, motors, mechanical systems, material-handling equipment, and other facility assets using appropriate tools, instruments, manuals, drawings, and manufacturer guidance.
• Preventive & Planned Maintenance: Perform scheduled inspections, lubrication, cleaning, adjustments, filter changes, component replacement, testing, and other PM activities. Assist with developing and improving maintenance schedules, procedures, checklists, and work plans.
• Electrical & Controls Support: Safely identify and access electrical panels, disconnects, controls, lighting, and related equipment as required for authorized maintenance activities. Perform only work within the technician’s training, authorization, and applicable safety requirements; escalat ...
• Building & Facility Maintenance: Maintain and repair building systems and structures, including doors, walls, floors, ceilings, drains, railings, fences, signage, fixtures, work areas, and other facility components.
• Utilities & Support Systems: Operate, inspect, and maintain applicable facility utility systems and equipment, which may include air compressors, dryers, air-handling equipment, HVAC-related components, pumps, plumbing, and similar Systems.
• Material Handling & Warehouse Support: Operate authorized powered industrial equipment and lifts as trained. Assist with safe movement, installation, removal, adjustment, or repair of equipment, racks, shelving, tables, and other workplace assets.
• Safety & Compliance: Identify and correct unsafe conditions when authorized and capable of doing so; maintain required safety signage and labeling; perform assigned safety inspections; report hazards, deficiencies, incidents, and conditions requiring specialized service.
• Security & Facility Support: Support opening/closing procedures, facility security, alarms, and emergency response responsibilities when assigned and trained.
• Housekeeping & Work Practices: Maintain clean and orderly work areas, properly handle tools and materials, and remove or dispose of maintenance-related waste and recyclable materials in accordance with site requirements.
• Documentation & Communication: Accurately document work performed, inspections, parts used, equipment conditions, and follow-up requirements. Communicate equipment problems, recurring failures, parts needs, and projects that require outside support.
• Vendor & Project Support: Assist contractors, vendors, and other departments with maintenance projects, equipment installations, repairs, inspections, and facility improvements as assigned.
• Other Maintenance Duties: Perform other maintenance, facilities, repair, inspection, housekeeping, or operational support duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Management, provided the work is within the employee’s training, authorization, and applicable safety, legal, and company requirements.
