Job summary

HL Mando America Corporation in Opelika, AL, is seeking a Sr. Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations, manage budgets, and drive improvements across plant equipment and processes.

The role requires extensive automation experience and strong leadership to coordinate with Production, Engineering, Quality, and EHS. The successful candidate will oversee preventive maintenance programs, manage spare parts and contracts, and supervise a team of controls engineers, maintenance supervisors,

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years in a highly automated manufacturing maintenance environment.
• Minimum of 3 years in a manager role.
• Extensive knowledge with electrical and hydraulic machines.
• Strong PLC and robotics skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reviews plant equipment and systems to minimize downtime and identify improvements.
• Prepares reports and analyzes data to improve operations.
• Supervise implementation and testing of customized production equipment and systems.
• Manage budgets, spare parts, service contracts, and contractors to control costs.
• Lead maintenance supervisors, engineers, and technicians, manage shift coverage.

Purpose:

The Maintenance Head of Team (HOT) leads maintenance operations to ensure safe, reliable equipment and minimize production downtime. Responsibilities include managing personnel, preventive maintenance, breakdown recovery, budgets, spare parts, and equipment improvements while coordinating with Production, Engineering, Quality, and EHS to meet manufacturing targets.

Key Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned as needed):

• Reviews the operation of plant equipment and systems constantly, to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate solve problems in a timely manner, and to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Prepares reports, analyzes data, and makes recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenance-related problems.
• Supervise the implementation, evaluation, installation and testing of our customized production equipment, systems, and machinery.
• Manage maintenance budgets, critical spare parts, service contracts, and outside contractors to control costs and maintain adequate support.
• Lead maintenance supervisors, engineers, and technicians by assigning responsibilities, managing shift coverage, and developing technical skills.
• Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs to identify equipment deterioration, prevent failures, and extend equipment life.
• Manages the performance of the HPS (Halla Production System) and the compliance with the relevant procedures and improves the process.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a highly automated manufacturing maintenance environment. (Automotive experience preferred)
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manager role
• Extensive knowledge with electrical and hydraulic machines
• Strong PLC and robotics skills preferred.

Legal Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age due to federal labor law requirements.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Supervisory Responsibility: Directly supervise Controls Engineers, Maintenance Supervisors and Technicians.

Working Conditions:

• This position operates in both office and automotive manufacturing environments, with regular exposure to machinery noise, varying temperatures, and industrial materials.

Physical Requirements:

• Duties require frequent walking and standing, occasional bending and climbing, and adherence to plant safety procedures and required PPE.
