The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS), Office of Information Technology is seeking a Senior Mainframe Programmer Analyst in Atlanta, Georgia. This contract role offers a hybrid work arrangement with max pay rate of $57.34 per hour and focuses on maintaining and enhancing DHS Mainframe applications for the Special Projects Team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in mainframe development.
  • 10+ years and expert knowledge of COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM and other mainframe technologies.
  • Expert knowledge of DB2 Utilities (QMF and SPUFI).
  • Strong knowledge of IBM Utilities such as IEBGENER, IDCAMS, ICETOOL, DEBUGGER(CICS and Batch), FILE MANAGER, SORT, Fault Analyzer.
  • Experience in all components of software delivery including requirements, design, development, and testing.
  • Experience with CHANGEMAN and CONTROL-M Scheduling.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with mainframe software development tools and platforms (z/OS).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Short Description:

The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS), Office of Information Technology is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Mainframe Programmer Analyst in Atlanta,Georgia.

Complete Description:

This position is responsible for providing system maintenance and enhancements for the DHS Special Projects Team.

Responsibilities include butare not limited to:

  • Design, develop, and maintain Mainframe applications
  • Interface with business and IT teams to understand business requirements and translate business requirements into formal technical requirements and application code.
  • Work with IT support teams (ex. DBAs) to ensure support and project requirements are developed and successfully implemented
  • Develop and execute unit test and integration plans/scripts to validate that application changes meet technical specifications.
  • Work with business team to complete acceptance testing and participate in integration testing
  • Responsible for full System Development Life Cycle
  • On-call production support

Required Job Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in mainframe development
