Responsibilities

Senior Mainframe Developer

DataStaff, Inc. is seeking a Senior Mainframe Developer for a long‑term contract opportunity located in Raleigh, NC.

Hybrid; On‑call availability for nightly batch processes, including weekdays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Support several mission‑critical systems and processes.
• Provide technical expertise for ongoing interface operations, inquiry‑only applications, the Child Placement and Payment System (CPPS), and Central Registry applications for the Child Welfare program.
• Will support PATH NC Data Conversion activities.
• Lead data conversion efforts and implement application enhancements based on evolving business needs.
• Diagnose and resolve application issues and provide production support using technologies such as CICS, COBOL, DB2, JCL, VSAM, stored procedures, and other supporting mainframe tools.
• Involves senior‑level business and systems analysis, modeling and design, and programming using COBOL, CICS, and DB2.
• Participate in effort estimation, consulting and planning for system modifications and enhancements, and monitoring technical activities to ensure alignment with schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
• Provide regular status updates, time reporting, and ensure quality assurance and compliance with state, departmental, and divisional standards.

• 10 Years - Experience in Software development and debugging using Mainframe technologies such as Cobol, CICS, JCL, DB2, TSO, VSAM
