Job summary

Saint Peter’s Health Care System is seeking a Sr. LIS Application Analyst to maintain LIS operations in the Laboratory Administration. The role emphasizes compliance with CAP, Joint Commission, NJDOH, and CLIA regulations, plus administration of hospital LIS policies and procedures.

The candidate should have a BS (or MS preferred) in science or IT, 3+ years in IT/LIS roles, and strong interpersonal skills to coordinate with users, staff, and vendors.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in science, IT, or related field as stated in requirements.
• Minimum 3 years IT/LIS experience preferred.
• Knowledge of hospital and lab operations and billing is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain operation standards as per CAP, Joint Commission, NJDOH, and CLIA.
• Administer LIS policies and procedures across the hospital and laboratory.
• Ensure users conform to LIS best practices.
• Liaise with LIS vendors to resolve quality and performance issues.
• Manage LIS programs used by Laboratory Personnel.
• Monitor data transfer accuracy across systems.

Education

B.S. in Science, Computer Science, Life Science, Technology, Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or similar field

M.S. in Science, Computer Science, Life Science, Technology, Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or MT/MLS (ASCP) preferred

Minimum 3 years of IT Analyst or Laboratory Information System Analyst experience

Knowledge of Hospital and Laboratory Operations, including instrument interfacing

Knowledge of Hospital and Laboratory billing

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Analytical ability to diagnose and resolve problems

Ability to manage detailed work, multiple projects, and deadlines

Sr. LIS Application Analyst

Lab Administration

The Sr. LIS Application Analyst will:

• Maintain standards of operation designed by the Administrative Laboratory Director, College of American Pathologists, Joint Commission of Accreditation of Hospitals and state (NJDOH) and federal (CLIA) regulations.
• Administer Hospital and Laboratory policies and procedures pertaining to the LIS.
• Assure employee conformance to LIS best practices.
• Act as a liaison with LIS vendors to correct any quality issues and works with vendors for resolution of any performance issues or installation of new hardware and software.
• Manage the various LIS programs utilized by the Laboratory Personnel.
• Monitor lab testing and the accuracy of data transfer and results transfer between multiple systems.

Requirements:

• B.S. in Science, Computer Science, Life Science, Technology, Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or similar field required. M.S. in Science, Computer Science, Life Science, Technology, Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or MT/MLS (ASCP) preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of IT Analyst or Laboratory Information System Analyst experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Hospital and Laboratory Operations, including instrument interfacing.
• Knowledge of Hospital and Laboratory billing preferred.
• Work requires a high level of interpersonal skills and communication skills to interact efficiently with user departments, computer service representatives and other staff members.
• A moderate level of analytical ability to diagnose and assess operating problems and implement corrective measures as needed.
• Ability to manage detailed work, multiple projects, system failures, and deadlines.

We offer competitive base rates that are determined by many factors, including job-related work experience, internal equity, and industry-specific market data.

In addition to base salary, some positions may be eligible for clinical certification pay and shift differentials.

The salary range listed for exempt positions reflects full-time compensation and will be prorated based on employment status.
