Job summary

Global Connect Technologies in Michigan is seeking an experienced hardware engineer to support end-to-end development of automotive exterior lighting systems, including headlamps and rear lamps. The role focuses on robust power architectures, EMI/thermal management, and compliance readiness.

You will perform worst-case analyses (DFMEA, MTBF), drive pre-compliance EMC testing, and resolve emission issues through layout and filtering improvements, with attention to functional safety (ASIL QM/A/B).

Responsibilities

• End-to-end hardware development for automotive exterior lighting (headlamps, signaling, rear lamps).
• Design system-level power architectures and LED drivers under EMI, thermal, and cost constraints.
• Perform DFMEA, MTBF and worst-case circuit analyses for production readiness.
• Lead pre-compliance and EMC testing to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Resolve conducted and radiated emissions via layout, filtering and architectural changes.
• Address ASIL QM/A/B functional safety requirements.

• System-level power architectures and LED driver strategies (linear vs switching) under tight EMI, thermal, and cost constraints,
• ASIL QM/A/B functional safety,
• CAN-FD/LIN integration
• Performing worst-case circuit analysis, derating, thermal and reliability analysis (DFMEA, MTBF) to ensure production readiness.
• Driving pre-compliance and compliance EMC testing,
• resolving conducted and radiated emission issues through layout, filtering, and architectural changes.
