Position Specific Description

This Learning and Development Specialist role focuses on designing, developing, and facilitating comprehensive learning programs while serving as a strategic consultant to business unit leaders on performance improvement, employee engagement, career development, and talent management initiatives. The successful candidate will partner with key stakeholders to conduct performance analyses, identify training gaps, and determine learning needs based on current and future strategic plans, then research and recommend optimal instructional methods ranging from instructor‑led sessions to e‑learning platforms. Core responsibilities include managing all phases of instructional systems design, leading multiple training projects from assessment through evaluation, facilitating professional development programs including new hire orientation and corporate culture initiatives, and supporting program management activities such as vendor selection and logistics coordination. Additionally, this role involves mentoring entry and intermediate‑level team members, participating in annual corporate training plan development, and utilizing multimedia skills to create video and audio content for web‑based delivery, requiring strong project management capabilities and expertise in adult learning principles.

Job Overview

Individuals consult with business unit leaders and teams in one or more of the following areas: performance, employee engagement, career development, competency models, talent development, team effectiveness. This role serves as a mentor to entry and intermediate level team members.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Partners with key stakeholders to conduct individual or team performance analyses, identify gaps and determine training needs
  • Consults with leaders to assess, trend and analyze the learning needs of employees based on current and future strategic plans
  • Researches and recommends the best combination of instructional methods, which may include formal course development (instructor led, virtual instructor led, e‑learning) to deliver the education
  • Identifies, selects, certifies and schedules instructors for training
  • Leads multiple projects by assessing, planning, negotiating, organizing, monitoring and evaluating the implementation process through the development and execution of documented project plans
  • Manages all phases of instructional systems design including analyzing, designing, developing and evaluating education deliverables
  • Facilitates professional development programs to include communication skills, productivity, new hire orientation and corporate culture programs
  • Supports program management to include vendor selection, participant selection, evaluation, communication and logistics for training classes
  • Participates in development of the annual corporate training plan, budget, and training schedule
  • Records, edits and produces video and audio content for delivery via the web
  • Serves as mentor and guide to entry and intermediate level team members
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
