Job description

Job Overview:

Responsible for developing and implementing standard operating practices and processes that support minimum performance expectations. Supports DC operations front-line leadership to ensure proper and consistent standards application. Resolves LM issues through collaboration with LM vendors, UNFI IT, and Process Excellence Engineering Team.

Job Responsibilities:

Core Responsibilities:

  • Utilize a standardized approach to Labor Management Systems (LMS and LMS Engineered Labor Standard - ELS).
  • Design, configure, and test LMS.
  • Perform LMS system integration testing, troubleshoot, and resolve issues.
  • Support LMS according to documented SOPs/PWIs.
  • Improve and monitor reporting accuracy for ELS reports and dashboards (SCI, Power BI, Databricks).
  • Lead engineering projects related to LMS, process improvement, and re-engineering.
  • Provide training to Operations leadership on Labor Management.
  • Train Industrial/Process Engineers to become LMS subject matter experts.
  • Partner with DC leadership to implement process improvements and update SOPs & PWIs.
  • Support labor modeling through analysis, time studies, engineered standards, and layout evaluations.
  • Maintain DC layout accuracy using AutoCAD.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and develop solutions.
  • Assist in developing and implementing Engineering Labor Standards, documenting all modifications.
  • Record LMS conversions and upgrades via SOPs and tools.
  • Review and adjust current standards for accuracy.
  • Engage associates for feedback and improvement opportunities.
  • Identify system and interface improvements for performance calculation.
  • Perform other relevant duties as required.

Job Requirements:

Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline or 0-3 years of relevant experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Prefer SQL, Java, and database knowledge.
  • Prefer experience with PowerBI, Databricks, or similar tools.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining multi-functional standards (MOST, MSD).
  • Proven ability to work within multiple warehouse management systems and eliminate obstacles.
  • Ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
  • Effective communication and engagement skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to engineer standards based on best practices with Operations leaders.
  • Critical thinking and innovative problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel to DCs as needed.

Work Environment:

Remote Role:

  • This position is remote; work from primary residence with possible office visits.
  • Travel up to 50% to company locations.

Physical Environment/Demands:

  • Up to 50% travel.
  • Majority of work in temperature-controlled office environment.
  • Some work in extreme temperatures in Perishable and Grocery Operations.
  • Regularly sit, walk, stand, and use office equipment.
  • May require stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching.
