Salary:

Position: Senior IT Systems Engineer

Type: Contract to Full-Time

Location: Virtual (work from home, Must be located in or around Austin, TX)

Hours: Primarily 8-5, M-F

Available: Immediately

Description: This position reports to the Director of Service & Support and will serve as the lead customer-facing role in design, implementation, and support services related to Windows desktop/server, Active Directory & Azure AD systems, and other customer systems as directed. This role will also lead strategy and support for the company's internal Windows system environments.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Be the company's leading SME on design, implementation, and support of prospect/customer systems, including:
  • Windows Server & Desktop
  • Windows VDI
  • Active Directory & Azure AD systems
  • Office 365 Cloud Services
  • Related Windows and AD system applications, services, and components

Develop Windows system specifications that address customer and company business requirements, adhering to best practices and standards.

Manage on-premise and cloud-based environments for Windows server, email, and key business applications, including O365, OneDrive, Office Applications, and mobile device management.

Assist in developing training curriculums and certification requirements for support staff related to Windows, Azure AD, and related skills.

Lead by example in utilizing company service and project management systems to resolve issues and deliver services efficiently.

Monitor service and project reports to identify critical customer needs and areas for process improvement.

Service top customers and internal staff by:

  • Making and taking calls to/from top customers
  • Obtaining detailed customer/issue information
  • Documenting interactions, questions, issues, and resolutions
  • Authoring and publishing knowledge base articles for internal and customer use

Provide management with regular project reports.

Maintain regular communication with customers and team members via various tools.

Show initiative, share ideas, and foster a fun work environment.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum 3+ years of Windows Server & Active Directory Administration
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with Microsoft Azure
  • Experience in implementing images and disks
  • Good understanding of storage concepts
  • Solid knowledge of Internet and IP networking
  • Understanding of Azure Active Directory and integration with Windows AD
  • Experience with application integration with Azure AD
  • Understanding of Cloud Services and roles
  • Experience deploying, managing, and monitoring cloud services
  • Proficiency in Windows PowerShell scripting

Nice to Have:

  • Understanding of Azure SQL
  • Experience with Azure Site Recovery and Azure Backup
  • Azure certification in Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions
