You will translate business needs into actionable tech, develop BRDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria, and oversee QA/UAT, releases, and IT governance. Strong communication and strategic thinking are essential.

Job Description

The Sr IT Technical Analyst works with business and IT leadership to assist in thestrategic planning, delivery, and optimization of technology solutions supportingBoyd Gaming’s mobile application and website platforms. This role aligns businessobjectives with technology capabilities through advanced business analysis,product strategy, and delivery execution within Agile teams, ensuring scalable,secure, and high-quality digital experiences. Technical Analysts are expected towork with and improve upon current systems while taking budgetary concerns intoconsideration. They must have the knowledge to suggest more cost-effectivesolutions and applications when appropriate and must always adhere to company’sprocedures and policies.

• Act as a strategic liaison between business stakeholders, ProductManagers, Engineering, UX/UI, QA, and external vendors to ensurebusiness needs are translated into actionable technology solutions.
• Lead and perform advanced business analysis to identify, define, anddocument business, functional, and system requirements for mobile, web,and other digital platforms.
• Develop and maintain clear documentation including:
  • Business requirement documents (BRDs)
  • Functional and system requirement
  • User stories and acceptance criteria
  • Workflow diagrams and process flows
  • Source-to-target and integration diagrams
• Work within a Scrum / Agile delivery framework, including:
  • Participating in backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprintreviews, and retrospectives
  • Creating, refining, and prioritizing user stories in collaborationwith Product Owners
  • Ensuring stories are well-defined, testable, and aligned withbusiness and technical objectives
• Partner with Product Owners to prioritize backlogs aligned to strategicobjectives.
• Provide oversight and hands-on support for Quality Assurance (QA) andUser Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities, including:
  • Defining test scenarios and acceptance criteria
  • Reviewing and validating test plans and test cases
  • Coordinating UAT execution with business stakeholders
  • Validating results and confirming readiness for release
• Identify and manage defects, ensure resolution, and support release readiness.
• Support release planning and ensure adherence to IT governanceprocesses including:
  • Change Management
  • Release Management
  • Version Control
  • Baseline Management
• Assist in post-implementation reviews to evaluate solution effectiveness,adoption, and opportunities for improvement.
• Research and evaluate new technologies, platforms, and tools that mayimprove Boyd Gaming’s mobile, web and other digital experiences.
• Collaborate with vendors for product evaluations, integrations, and issueresolution.
• Develop, review, and approve technical, operational, and supportdocumentation.
• Support training activities and knowledge transfer for business andoperational teams.
• Apply strong analytical thinking and strategic insight to recommendimprovements to digital products, processes, and user experiences.
• Ensure all work complies with Boyd Gaming policies, procedures, andregulatory requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education or Formal Training Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in InformationTechnology, Business, Computer Science, or a related field required.
• Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of formaleducation.

Experience:

• Minimum 8 years of progressive experience performing business analysis,technology analysis, or product delivery roles within IT or digital productorganizations.
• Minimum 8 years of experience gathering and documenting business andsystem requirements, translating them into detailed functional specifications and user stories.
• Demonstrated experience working within Agile / Scrum deliveryenvironments.
• Hands-on experience supporting QA and UAT testing, including testplanning, execution coordination, and validation.
• Proven experience supporting mobile application and website platforms,including integrations and backend systems.
• Experience partnering directly with business stakeholders, ProductManagers, and Engineering teams to deliver enterprise-scale digital solutions.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, release management, and IT governancebest practices.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability totranslate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
• Proven ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously in a fast-pacedenvironment.
• High level of attention to detail with a strong focus on quality andaccuracy.
• Ability to think strategically while remaining hands-on in execution.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)and Agile lifecycle tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence or equivalent).
• ITIL V3 Awareness or similar service management training preferred.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain any required regulatory orgaming-related licenses
