Job summary

Central Transport is seeking an Operations Supervisor to oversee inbound operations at a busy terminal, directing up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock staff to meet production targets.

You will ensure safe, compliant operations per DOT/OSHA standards while driving efficiency, route optimization, and consistent KPI achievement to deliver reliable service for customers.

Qualifications

• Experience in transportation, cross docking, or shipping environment preferred.
• Strong leadership qualities and desire to deliver excellent customer service.
• High aptitude for technology and comfort with using systems to track operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee inbound operations for a designated terminal section.
• Manage up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel to meet production schedule.
• Oversee loading, forklift traffic, and palletized freight handling.
• Review and revise driver routes to increase efficiency.
• Monitor freight in transit and communicate issues to drivers.
• Ensure KPI goals are met or exceeded.
• Maintain a safe work environment per DOT/OSHA standards.
• Support a culture of excellence in quality of product for customers.

Salary ranges from:

• $60,000 - $75,000 + up to 10% in bonuses

Operations Supervisor

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

• Experience in a transportation, cross docking, or shipping and receiving environment (preferably within the LTL industry)
• Strong leadership qualities
• Desire to surround customer with excellence in service
• High aptitude for technology
• The ability to multi-task while being detail oriented
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• An Associates or Bachelor's Degree, preferred but not required

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Oversee inbound operations for your designated section of the terminal dock
• Manage up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel to achieve a designated production schedule.
• This includes the process of loading, managing forklift traffic, and overseeing proper picking/sortation of palletized freight.
• Review and revise driver routes to increase efficiencies while monitoring a changing workload
• Being aware of freight that is in transit
• Assist and report issues that drivers face when they're on the road (i.e. flat tire)
• Ensure facility Key Performance Indicator (KPI) goals are met and/or exceeded
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT/OSHA standards
• Provide / support a culture of excellence in quality of product to internal and external customers
