Job summary

Nexus Circular is seeking a Senior Instrumentation & Controls Project Engineer to lead I&C on capital projects, facility expansions, and process upgrades in Atlanta. You will coordinate EPCs, system integrators, equipment suppliers, contractors, and Nexus teams to deliver safe, reliable I&C interfaces.

Reporting to the Electrical Engineering Manager, you will guide design from concept through commissioning, review P&IDs, instrument data sheets, I/O lists, and control narratives.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Controls Engineering.
• Seven+ years of instrumentation and controls experience in process industries.
• Experience delivering capital projects through engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup.
• Experience leading I&C discipline or owner’s engineer roles.
• Ability to coordinate interfaces among EPCs, vendors, and internal teams.
• Knowledge of process instrumentation, analyzers, valves, PLCs, HMIs, and industrial networks.
• Familiarity with ISA, NEC, NFPA, IEEE, ANSI, UL, OSHA standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead Nexus I&C project and act as technical owner.
• Establish design criteria, deliverables, schedules, and acceptance.
• Coordinate EPCs, system integrators, vendors, and contractors.
• Review P&IDs, data sheets, I/O lists, and control narratives.
• Ensure interfaces between plant controls and packaged equipment.
• Provide basic electrical interface support (120/480 VAC).
• Mentor engineers and conduct project reviews.
• Travel 10–20% depending on project.
